Happy New Year! Let this be your year of regaining health and vitality!
Dry Fasting is very powerful. It's got some intense autophagy and intense stem cell regeneration capabilities. But with its power come possible side effects. You should always scale slowly and adjust. Most people come to dry fasting with severe illnesses. Depending on your illness, bloodwork, and reaction to the fasting process, your strategy should change. Here is a list of do's and don'ts that I have come to after discussing dry fasting with hundreds of people. The following do's and don'ts err on the side of caution and include lots of people who have had worsening conditions after a dry fast (over-fasting damage due to condition).
Do build up to extended fasting slowly
Do learn about proper refeeding
Do learn why carbs are important for overall health
Do learn why ketosis is therapeutic
Do measure improvement by giving yourself at least 1-2 months between long fasts (over 3 days)
Do remove processed food from the diet
Do fix your cortisol circadian rhythm
Do learn meditation so you can harness the magic of a dry fast
Do take Potassium and Vitamin C after a dry fast
Do realize that women need to prepare twice as diligently compared to men
Do take bloodwork before a dry fast and two months after one
Do take extra precautions for fasting if diabetic (reduce dose significantly)
Do dry fast if you have persistent chronic lung issues (miraculous)
Do learn about the importance of daily light movement
Do dry fast if you have water retention issues (careful if it's from burned-out adrenals/hypothyroidism)
Don't dry fast before getting kidney, liver, thyroid, and adrenal bloodwork done
Don't dry fast if you have low cortisol issues (salivary cortisol test) due to adrenal insufficiency
Don't do extended dry fasting for cancer before extensive research and water fasting experience
Don't dry fast if you have elevated rT3
Don't dry fast for longer than 5 days without first addressing organ issues
Don't dry fast before you've water fasted
Don't ingest anything during your dry fast (unless it's required medication, but then you need to analyze if a dry fast is safe for you)
Don't take serotonin agonists or mushrooms for at least two weeks after a dry fast (water retention issues)
Don't keep fasting when you don't need to (over-fasting)
Don't dry fast if you have severe blood, heart, liver, or kidney issues (at least without precautions)
Don't dry fast when you have an active illness (there are better strategies)
Don't have salt too quickly after a dry fast
Don't dry fast if you have any diagnosed heart or blood issues
💡That's it for now. I may be missing a few things that I'll add later. I am still working on the Scorch Protocol and adapting and changing many things, and I highly recommend you get access to it under the Scorch Protocol MIRO BOARD. All other protocols on this site at this point are obsolete and outdated, for informational use only. Of course, they were always for information use only, but at this point, I've rewritten/overwritten them all to certain extents. The link for paid members is below. (once again, if you can't afford it, email me for the access link).
Dry fasting is not just water fasting with the water taken away. Removing water flips on a second, deeper autophagy pathway through hyperosmotic stress, one that water fasting cannot reach. Here is the mechanism, the immune and viral numbers behind it, the stem-cell regeneration that follows, and the honest safety picture.
This marks the beginning of new posts that will define a new era for the dry fasting club. An era of better enlightenment. Shorter articles. More to the point. If you've been
